1. Overview
===========
 This MO Disk formatter allows you to easily perform physical or 
logical formatting on your MO disks in DOS environment.
 This supports 512bytes/sector MO disks(540, 230 and 128MB capacities)
and 2048bytes/sector MO disks(1.3GB and 640MB capacites)

[Note]
Physical formatting and Low Level formatting is the same meaning.


2. Operating environment
========================
2.1  Operating environment (hardware)
-------------------------------------
The following hardware is necessary for the operation of this formatter:

If you are using SCSI MO drives ,
    (1) IBM PC/AT or compatible
    (2) SCSI board
    (3) SCSI MO drive

If you are using ATAPI MO drives ,
    (1) IBM PC/AT or compatible
    (2) ATAPI MO drive


2.2  Operating environment (software)
-------------------------------------
The following software is necessary for the operation of this MO Disk Formatter:

If you are using SCSI MO drives ,
  (1) MS-DOS version 6 or later
  (2) ASPI manager for SCSI host adapter
  (3) SCSI MO device driver : MODISK2.SYS

If you are using ATAPI MO drives ,
  (1) MS-DOS version 6 or later
  (2) ATAPI MO device driver : MODISKAP.SYS

3. Operating the MO Disk Formatter
==================================
Execute "FJFDISK.EXE" to start the formatter.
the following initial screen is displayed:

Move the cursor on the screen and select the drive to be formatted.
(Select "End" to terminate the program.)

Once a drive is selected, the format selection screen is displayed.

3.1  When selecting "Logical formatting"
----------------------------------------
Selecting "S Floppy type"or"A Hard Disk type" displays the following message
 at the center of the screen.

          |   Are you sure you want to continue?         |
          +----------------------------------------------+
          |                   Execute                    |
          |                    Abort                     |
          +----------------------------------------------+ 

Select "Execute" to start logical formatting on the disk

        |Input the volume label (11 characters, ENTER for none.)? |
        |                  [           ]                          |
        +---------------------------------------------------------+

Enter the volume label.
 (Or simply press [Enter] to set NO NAME as the volume label.)


While the formatting is in progress, the following message is displayed at 
the center of the screen.

After formatting is complete, the following message is displayed.
The following message is displayed and the formatting ends.

3.2 When selecting "Low Level Formatting"
-----------------------------------------
Selecting "Low Level Formatting" displays the following screen:

       | All existing data on disk will be lost.                       |
       | Low-level formatting will take approximately 10 to 20 minutes,|
       | and cannot be canceled.                                       |
       | Are you sure you want to continue?                            |

       +---------------------------------------------------------------+

Select "Execute" to start physical formatting. 
The following message is displayed:

After physical formatting is complete, the following message is displayed:

The physically formatted MO disk must be logically formatted before it can 
be used.
